John McNeil
Brief Bio:
As the Apostle Paul would say, "Greetings to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." A lot has happened since you last heard from me. Some of you may know me from Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in Andrews, NC. For the summer of 2007, I was a counselor here where I served diverse groups of teenagers through discipleship, mentoring and outdoor recreation. But for those that don't know me. I am completing my fourth year at North Carolina State University. It was here at NC State, as a freshman, that I entrusted my life to Jesus Christ. Before my life changing decision my perspective on life was very skewed. I wanted to pursue a degree in engineering at NC State because my views of identity were found in what I possessed (nice car, big house, high salary, and good looking women). It was not until an on-campus ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ pursued me and shared with me the love of Christ and the penalty of my sinful nature. This was the first time I ever remember hearing the Gospel and I knew it was truth. So one night I cried out to God pleading with Him to let the blood of Christ cleans me from my rebellion, from my stubborn self-will. Once Christ came into my life, He began breaking down these misconceptions I had about life and success. I now sought change. I knew I needed to pursue a degree in college that would further God's glory by changing lives. My major now, Biological Engineering with a concentration on the environment, has allowed me the incredible opportunity to do just that: make a difference in people's lives and permanently improve cultures. My days at college and my summer at Snowbird have helped prepare me for the leap of faith I wish to make this summer to combine my mission desires and my educational experience in engineering.
The Mission:
Engineering Ministries International (www.emiusa.org) has offered me the privilege to intern as an engineer to serve a foreign people group in need – the Rwandan and Ugandan people from the sub-Saharan region of Africa – with the Good News of Christ. Engineering Ministries International (eMi) is a Christ-centered ministry that provides countries in need with physical and spiritual health in order to develop, through engineering, a world of hope. I have a tremendous passion to serve God and to spread God's love through Jesus Christ, and God has allowed me the opportunity to do this in Africa as a missionary and an engineer.
I have always wanted to serve the country of Africa because the people there are in so much need and we in the US are often times unaware of these tremendous needs. The project I will be assigned will focus on designing an educational building for the country of Rwanda. I am so excited to be a part of this project and I would like you to come alongside me and help further the Biblical education of the people in Rwanda.

In order to make this trip possible, I am trusting God to develop a team of ministry partners that will help both prayerfully and financially. My total need is $4,000, which will cover airfare, food, and lodging. Would you prayerfully discern and consider helping me meet this need by giving a tax-deductible gift of whatever amount you feel led and are able to give? Any amount that you give is greatly appreciated. If you are in a position to give, please make your check payable to "Engineering Ministries International" and send it to me, along with the response card, in the enclosed envelope.
Thank you so much for considering putting forth your hard work and efforts to support this mission for the well being of the people of Uganda and Rwanda and for the glory of God. I pray that you will join in my excitement to make a difference in the lives of people who are in great need so that they, like us, may step out of poverty and enter an environment of hope.
